Present at the peace meeting is the former National Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress Adams Oshiomhole and John Odigie-Oyegun.

The governorship candidates attended with their running mates: Philip Shaibu (PDP), and Gani Audu (APC).

The peace meeting is coming in the heat of the tension caused by the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Allnews had earlier reported that the Nigerian police raised alarm over the influx of thugs by politicians into the state ahead of the Governorship election.

The two top contending parties for the Governorship seat have in recent times accused each other of violent conduct during election rallies.

Allnews reported how Obaseki's envoy was attacked by thugs during his election campaign activities at Oshiomhole's hometown.

In a recent development, APC alleged that Oshimhole's convoy accident was a plot to assassinate the party leader.
