Edo Decides 2020: People Of South-South State Should Be Allo

Yobe State Governor and the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) caretaker committee Mai Mala-Buni has urged the youths of Edo state to avoid violence and embrace peace during the forthcoming governorship election.

Making this call in a statement signed by Mamman Mohammed, his media aid, Buni held that the people of Edo state should be allowed to elect a leader of their choice.

According to him, APC had told its supporters to shun any form of violent activities that contravenes the provision of the rule of law.

Calling on the Youths of Edo state to support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in conducting an acceptable governorship election, Buni said:

“I urge APC supporters including those from the opposition parties to support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fair, credible and acceptable election.

“The people of Edo should be allowed to elect a leader of their choice and, the people’s wish should be respected.

“We are optimistic that the security agencies would check the excesses of troublemakers, protect the electorate and their votes.” 

Also charging youths to  distance themselves from people pushing for violence, Buni said:

“Your future lies in a peaceful election and purposeful leadership. The advocates of violence do not wish you good and have no programs for your future.

“You should, therefore, distance yourselves from them.”
