Edo Election: INEC Conduct In Edo A Sabotage Of Nigeria's De

Imo State Governor and the Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  National Campaign Council for Edo election Hope Uzodinma, has alleged that the governorship election in Edo was ruined by irregularities from officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Accusing INEC officials of sabotaging the nation's electoral system in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku,  Uzodinma said the electoral officials made it difficult for APC votes to count.

Further commending the Governorship Candidate of  APC, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, for his 'resilience and doggedness', Uzodinma urged APC supporters to remain calm and law-abiding.

According to Uzodinma,  the conduct of INEC officials in the Edo Governorship Election was ‘shameful’.

He also held that what happened in Edo State is sabotage to Nigeria’s hard-won Democracy.

It will be recalled that INEC on Sunday declared Obaseki as the winner of the keenly-contested Governorship election in Edo state.

INEC’s Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh declared Obaseki winner of the election after polling a total of 307,955 votes to humble his closest challenger, Ize-Iyamu of the APC, who polled a total of 223,619 votes.
