The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the Certificate of return to Governor Godwin Obaseki, the winner of the Edo state governorship election.
Making this announcement on its official Twitter page on Tuesday, INEC disclosed that the certificate of return was presented to Obaseki by the National Commissioner supervising Edo, May Agbamuche.

"National Commissioner supervising Edo, Rivers and Bayelsa States, Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu has presented Certificates of Return to winners of the Edo State Governorship election, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his running mate, Mr. Philip Shaibu at INEC’s Office, Benin," the tweet on INEC official Twitter page read.
It will be recalled that AllNews had on Saturday given a minute-by-minute report of the Edo state Governorship election that saw Governor Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeat his main opposition, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a margin of over eighty thousand votes.
