Edo Election Update: PDP's Obaseki Trumps APC's Ize-Iyamu At

The latest Edo Election Update from South-South is that Governor Godwin Obaseki, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate defeated his main rival, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Orhionmwon Local Government Area (LGA).

AllNews reports that Orhionmwon is Ize-Iyamu’s LGA.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday announced Orhionmwon LGA Governorship election result at its office along Ramat Park, Benin-City, Edo.

Registered Voters: 118671

Accredited Voters: 24868

APC: 10458

PDP: 13445

 

Total Valid Votes: 24213

Rejected Votes: 614

Total Votes cast: 24827

Obaseki sprung into a commanding lead Sunday morning as INEC started to announce results of polls conducted across the state.

As expected by many, Obaseki’s closest challenger is APC's Ize-Iyamu.

INEC has announced results in 17 of the 18 LGAs. The result of Ovia South West is still being awaited.
