Edo Police Arrest 13, 18-Year-Old Suspected Kidnappers

The Edo State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers aged 13 and 18-years-old respectively.

13-year-old Destiny Osevaru, and his 18-year-old accomplice, Godstime Obioko were apprehended in Esan North-East Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Command's Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Bello Kantongos stated in a statement that they were both arrested on December 28, 2021, at about 1 pm.

The police PRO said they both they confessed to abducting an 8-year-old girl and tieing her down in an uncompleted building. The girl was brought to the station by a man who found her tied down in a building. The police pulled up at the scene and arrested the 2 boys who had left her to charge their phones in other to call and demand ransom from her parents.

"The suspects confessed they planned to demand N500,000 from the girl's parent. They will soon be charged to court when the investigation is concluded," the PRO said.
