EFL Championship: Brentford Lost The Opportunity To Claim A Qualification For EPL Next Season

The EFL Championship is the second tier in English football and Brentford has lost the opportunity to claim a spot to qualify for EPL ahead of next season as they lost to Stoke City away from home.

The EPL Championship is nearing its end as with all football leagues in Europe and 2nd division teams who are at the top of their tables have the opportunity to qualify for the 1st tier ahead of next season. Leeds United already qualifies for next season and West Brom is on their way as well but Brentford has thrown away a golden opportunity of qualifying as they lost to Stoke away from home with a 1-0 loss.

A win would have taken them ahead of West Brom; as West Brom lost to Huddersfield but now stands at 82 points for West Brom and 81 for Brentford. The last game for the season could still turn in their favor as Brentford takes on Barnsley and West Brom takes on QPR.

The results from that match will determine if Brentford would be in EFL Championship or EPL ahead of next season.
