Burnley took another step towards securing the Championship title with a 2-0 victory over 10-man Sheffield United at Turf Moor on Monday.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson's brace sealed the win for Burnley, who are now 14 points clear of second-placed United with six games left to play.

The match took a turn in Burnley's favor in the first half when United goalkeeper Wes Foderingham was shown a red card for tripping Nathan Tella, who was through on goal.

Burnley capitalized on the advantage in the second half, with Gudmundsson finding the back of the net twice, securing a crucial victory in their pursuit of the Championship title.

Burnley had already secured promotion to the Premier League with a 2-1 win against Middlesbrough on Friday, ensuring an immediate return to the top flight after last season's relegation.

Now, they are focused on clinching the Championship title, and Gudmundsson's brace against Sheffield United has brought them closer to that goal.

In other Championship results, Luton climbed to third place with a 3-1 victory over second-bottom Blackpool, while Middlesbrough rescued a 2-2 draw at Bristol City after being two goals down.

Blackburn came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Huddersfield, and Preston closed in on the play-off places with a 2-1 win over Reading.

Coventry salvaged a 2-2 draw with Watford, and struggling QPR fought back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at West Brom.

Hull secured a 1-0 victory over Millwall, Sunderland won 1-0 against Cardiff, Birmingham played out a goalless draw with Stoke, and Norwich was held to a 0-0 draw by Rotherham.
