Egbedun Reveals Plan To Partner Globacom To Improve Efficien

The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, has revealed a plan by the 8th Assembly to partner with mobile telecommunication giant, Globacom in fixing the dormant Assembly E-Library.

The Speaker made this known on Thursday when he hosted the executive members of the company led by Kofoshi in his office.

Shortly after his inauguration as the Speaker of the 8th Assembly, Egbedun conducted a tour on the library to assess the state of the facility.

The Speaker was however dissatisfied with the condition of the facility in spite of the humongous amount that has went into it in the past, promising to initiate interventions to resuscitate it in order to aid the work of the House and serve the public who visit the legislative house.

While addressing the visitor, Adewale Egbedun said he desired a good E-Library for Osun Assembly that will serve as a research centre for the members, staff and students in the state and beyond.

He impressed on the team from Globacom to partner the House in bringing the facility back to life.

Egbedun disclosed that Library is critical to his goal of digitalising the Assembly.

He added that Osun laws should be available and associable with the citizenry.

Responding to him, the Chief Enterprise Officer, Globacom Ltd, Eric Uwoama said Globacom is ready to partner with the institution to make the E-Library work effectively.

Uwoama commended the Speaker for his vision in running a tech-focus legislature.

The Deputy Speaker while speaking earlier, noted that students need to be encouraged in doing research, hence, corroborated the position of the Speaker in bringing the Library back to life.
