Eguma Upbeat About Winning NPFL, Confederation Cup

Stanley Eguma, Rivers United's head coach, is confident that his team can retain the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) crown and go all the way to winning the CAF Confederation Cup.

He opened up on being determined to see his side bag two honours this season after returning to Nigeria from Abidjan.

The gaffer stated that his team's journey in the Confederation Cup has "been a fruitful experience" while adding that the Pride of Rivers "hope on doing more great things for the sake of Nigerians.”

"All the competitions we entered have their categories and I think CAF Confederation Cup is higher than any of them but we are not losing focus because it was through the league we got this ticket to go to the continent.

"We knew Nigerians have an interest in CAF competitions and we don't have to let them down that is why we have given the utmost attention to make sure we perform well," Eguma told the club’s media.

Rivers United will know their quarter-final opponent on Wednesday as they continue their bid to win the elusive CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in the history of the country.
