The Governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, has hosted top government officials, clerics, businessmen and others to a reception marking the end of 2023 Ramadan.
The event took place on Friday at the state's Government House in Damaturu, the state's capital.
The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, expressed gratitude to Allah for witnessing another Eid-El Fitr in good health.
Gubana said currently, the state Governor is in Saudi Arabia, performing lesser Hajj and praying for peace and success in Nigeria and Yobe state in particular.
He enjoined citizens to intensify prayers for successful transition and handing over ceremonies as well as peace, progress and bumper harvest during this year's farming season
Also contributing, the chief Imam Yobe Mosque and Islamic Center, Ustas Hudu Mohammad Yusuf, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah "for giving us the opportunity to observe the theSallahh period successfully".
The spokesperson to the deputy governor, Hussaini Mai Suleh, in a statement said Gubana spoke at length on the importance and virtues of the the Sallah days festivities.
Special prayers were offered at the end of the reception for peace and progress of the state.
