The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has joined the Muslim faithful to observe his Eid-El Fitr prayers.
The prayers took place on Friday at the Mambilla Barracks prayer ground.
Igp Baba urged the Muslims to imbibe the spirit of the Eid season.
He further called on them to uphold the teachings of the Holy Qur'an in their conduct and relationship with others.
This was contained in a statement by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to Adejobi, the IGP assured the security of people during the festive period.
"Similarly, the IGP assures that the police have carried out all necessary deployments for the prevention of crime and the protection of all peaceable members of the society," Adejobi stated.
