Eight KWASU Staff Promoted To Professorial Cadre

The approval of the promotion of eight members of staff at Kwara State University (KWASU) has been given by the Governing Council of the institution.

According to the Acting Director of University Relations, Dr Saeedat Aliyu, in a statement on Thursday, the promotion was confirmed during the 65th regular meeting of the university’s Governing Council, held on May 16 and May 17.

”Two among the staff attained full professorship and the other six were promoted to Associate Professorship.

”The newly promoted Professors are: Prof. Imoloame O. Emmanuel with specialisation in Weed Science; and Prof.Ngozi Bibiana Nwabufo, with a specialisation in Commerce and Cooperative Studies.

”The Associate Professors are Dr Saeedat Aliyu with specialisation in African Literature, Dr Reuben Kehinde Akano specialist in African Literature; and Dr Olayinka Jelili Yusuf with specialisation in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology.

Others are Dr Adeniyi Ganiyu Adeogun, specialist in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering Structures, Dr Samson Olalekan Odeyemi, specialist in Structural Engineering; and late Dr Isa Yakub Ajeigbe who specialised in Human Kinetics, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
