Ekiti State House of Assembly has elected, Gboyega Aribisoganl as its new Speaker.
The new Speaker, Gboyega Aribisogan, who represents the Ikole constituency, was elected at plenary on Tuesday.
He is replacing the late Speaker, Funminyi Afuye, who died last month after a brief illness.
The election of the new Speaker is also coming some months after the swearing-in of a new executive Governor.
Afuye, before his death, was a former commissioner of the state ministry of information and a two-time member of the state assembly.
He was sworn in as the speaker of the Ekiti sixth assembly on June 6, 2019.
