There was reported tension in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital on Thursday when a commercial motorcyclist popularly known as Okada beat up a state government official.
This incident is coming on the heels of reported uncoordinated activities of the Taskforce of Motorcycle Riders Association in Ekiti State which many residents have said has taken another dimension.
AllNews Nigeria gathered that an Okada rider was intercepted by the taskforce official at the popular Okesa Flyover in Ado-Ekiti for the daily ticket payment.
The unknown task force official tried to remove the ignition key from the rider’s motorcycle but the commercial motorcyclist stood his ground, leading to a heavy exchange of blows.
The motorcyclist eventually overpowered the task force official and beat him mercilessly before a few members of the public intervened to end the fracas.
As of the time of filing this report, the state government, commercial motorcyclist union and the Nigerian Police, Ekiti State Command are yet to react to the incident.
