Ekiti Monarch Laments Insecurity In Border Communities

The Ologotun of Ogotun-Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Adesanmi, has appealed to the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji to take proactive measures in curbing the rising level of insecurity in border towns across the state.

Oba Adesanmi disclosed that taking such step would help in securing and the development of the border towns.

The monarch lamented that most of the Ekiti communities sharing borders with neighbouring states were bedeviled with recurrent cases of kidnapping and killings.

He also added that the communities were groaning under the burden of bad roads and lack of public utilities.

The monarch, who spoke in Ogotun-Ekiti, at the weekend, during his coronation ceremony also added Ogotun-Ekiti town had a lot of lofty and remarkable potentials in agriculture that could add value to Ekiti if harnessed.

He, therefore, pleaded with Oyebanji to secure the town, which shared border with Ikeji and Owena in Osun State.
