Ekiti State Government Appoints New Tutor-General

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has approved the appointment of Victor Amele as the new Tutor-General in the state's Teaching Service Commission.

The approval was announced in a statement by Adejoke Ajayi, the Chief Information Officer at the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday.

According to Ajayi, Amele's appointment as the Tutor-General responsible for the Ekiti Central Education District comes after the retirement of Martin Ilori, from service upon reaching the mandatory age of 60 years.

She added that prior to his appointment, Amele had been serving as the Principal of Doherty Memorial Grammar School, in Ijero-Ekiti, and President of the All-Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ekiti State branch.

In his remark, the Permanent Secretary of TESCOM, Michael Omolayo, urged the newly appointed Tutor-General to prove his worth by excelling in his new role.

Omolayo stressed the importance of aligning with the present administration's Educational Reform Development Agenda and Values Orientation.

He added that the elevation was based on merit, taking into account previous accomplishments, performance in qualifying examination, interview, and recognition of seniority in service.  

The TESCOM secretary congratulated the retired Tutor-General for his commendable service and wished him success in his future pursuits.

.In expressing his gratitude, the newly appointed Tutor-General appreciated the state governor for entrusting him with this new responsibility, pledging to put in his best to achieve the set objectives.

He noted that the appointment would provide an opportunity for him to contribute to the advancement of human capital development, which is one of the present administration's six-point developmental agenda.
