Eko Star Film And TV Awards: Actress Ruth Kadiri Fumes Over

Nollywood star Ruth Kadiri has tackled the organizers of the Eko Star Film & TV Awards for not recognizing her efforts in the industry.

The event took place on Monday, April 12, and among the winners was TV host and actress Nancy Isime, who showed off her achievement on her social media handle.

Fuming over her award snub, movie star and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri accused the organizers of the show, including EbonyLife boss Mo Abudu and the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, saying they have overlooked her efforts in the industry.

According to Kadiri, her name was among those that ended up on the jury's list during the decision-making process but she was shunned because she doesn't belong to a clique.

She wrote, "I am a filmmaker. I am a woman. I am a hard-working woman. I have faced the struggles every woman/filmmaker has faced. Did my name at any point pop up? Yes. But because I do not belong to a clique, yet again I have been overlooked.

"I will not be pressured. I will keep working hard. @lagosstategovt @moabudu @ijayonah @nifsummit thanks for overlooking me and congrats to everyone who got recognized.

"The film industry is controlled by women, so if you're going to do it, do it right or don't do it at all."
