Amid the varied reactions trailing the arrest of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has commented on the development.
Ekweremadu and his wife were apprehended by the UK police on Thursday and he is now a trending topic, with many Nigerians condemning him for the alleged human trafficking and organ harvesting charges against him.
Wading into the issue, Peter Obi via his official Twitter handle on Friday stated that he and his family stand with the embattled politician in his present travail.
Obi disclosed that he was praying for the healing of Ekweremadu's daughter and committing the Senator and his wife into the hands of God for justice to be done.
"My family and I are with the Ekweremadu’s over their travail. We join all men of goodwill in praying for the healing of their daughter and commit them into God’s hand for justice to be done", he wrote.
