The Kaduna State government has evacuated students who are indigenes of the state studying at the University of Jos and other tertiary institutions in Plateau State.

The evacuation was carried out by the state scholarship and loans board.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Malam Hassan Rilwan, made the announcement in a statement on Thursday. He further stated that the evacuation was concluded last weekend.

The state government had directed that all students of Kaduna State trapped in Jos be evacuated due to the rising security situation in the state.

Hassan further promised that the Board will remain proactive in such volatile situations. He also reiterated the state government's commitment to securing the lives of its students in Plateau State and elsewhere.

The statement further read that, "The board also noted the support it received from the Senator representing Kaduna Central, Senator Uba Sani who assisted immensely within the evacuation of the scholars."
