The Action People’s Party (APP) has withdrawn its petition challenging the emergence of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
The development was made known by APP counsel, Obed Agu during the commencement of Wednesday's proceedings.
The suit was dismissed by the Presiding Judge, Justice Tsammani, and comes after the pre-hearing of the petition of the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was adjourned to Wednesday, May 11.
AllNews Nigeria previously reported that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Tinubu asked the election tribunal in Abuja to dismiss the petition filed by the Allied People’s Movement (APM) against their election victory.
According to APC, the petition is worthless as it disclosed no reasonable cause of action.
