Election Tribunal: Pre-Trial Hearing Adjourned To May 10

The presidential election tribunal has adjourned its sitting to Wednesday, May 10, following proceedings which resumed on Monday.

AllNews Nigeria previously revealed the names of the justices who are presiding over the petitions challenging Bola Tinubu's emergence as the President-elect.

Sharing an update via his official Twitter handle, Labour Party stalwart and Nollywood star Kenneth Okonkwo disclosed that the pre-trial had been adjourned to Wednesday by 2 pm.

"After a brief pre-hearing trial, the case was adjourned to Wednesday, 10th May 2023 at 2 pm prompt..", the post reads.

In an earlier tweet, Okonkwo disclosed that the LP has a formidable team of lawyers representing its presidential flag bearer, Peter Obi.

He also prayed to God for the wisdom to "recover the people's mandate".

The resumption of the presidential election tribunal sitting comes amid allegations of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) planning to influence the proceedings with financial inducements.

In a recent chat with journalists, the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Debo Ologunagba, alleged that APC members have "demonstrated capacity and proclivity to compromise democratic institutions in our country".
