#electionresults2023: Atiku Beats Tinubu, Obi In Akwa Ibom

The presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has floored his counterparts from other parties in Akwa Ibom, polling the highest number of votes in the region in the 2023 election.

Announcing the results on Monday afternoon, the State Collation Officer, Professor Emmanuel Adigio revealed that the former vice president scored 214,012 votes, beating APC's Bola TInubu who garnered 160,620 votes.

Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi got the third position with 132,683 votes.

It was reported earlier that the spokesperson for the PDP presidential campaign, Dino Melaye, lost his temper at the collation centre in Abuja.

Apparently pissed with the irregularities in the results being called, Melaye insisted that he would have his say as the worst that INEC could do to him was to have him thrown out.

Atiku's victory in Akwa Ibom is a big plus for him as he is trailing Obi and Tinubu in the total results collated so far.
