The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the Niger North senatorial election.
Sani Bello of the Niger North Senatorial District scored 100,197 votes against the PDP and NNPP candidates who scored 88,153 and 13,886 votes respectively.
According to the Returning Officer, Zacchaeus Kolo, who announced the results, Bello polled 100,197 votes and having satisfied all conditions was declared winner.
According to the Chief Press Secretary of the state governor Mary Berje, Sani Bello is the first sitting Governor to be elected as Senator in Niger State.
