The Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) Dr Kayode Fayemi has backed president Muhammadu Buhari over accent to Electoral Bill.
Fayemi explained that the Governors have not put their weight over any form of primary election for political parties.
Fayemi made the disclosure shortly after meeting president Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa.
Fayemi explained that for every mode of conducting primaries, challenges are bound.
Expressing his opinion, he said it takes courage for the president to stand with Nigerians.
He added that the president “only said be fair to all, let all options apply and what you decide should be determined by your own local and peculiar circumstances.”
Fayemi stated that the Governors' stand was for everyone to have opportunities to feel a sense of belonging.
