The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has suspended its planned strike for a duration of two weeks.

The update was given by the Secretary-General of the union, Joe Ajaero, on Wednesday evening after the union met with the Minster of Labour, Chris Ngige.

Ajaero disclosed that the government has pledged to resolve the union's issues within two weeks, adding that if that doesn't happen, the strike will resume.

According to Premium Times, a committee led by the Minister of State for Power, Jeddy Agba, has been set up to address the issues raised by electricity workers.

It was agreed by the parties involved that a bipartite committee would be formed to look investigate the union's complaints and report back in two weeks.

Based on the recent happening, Ajaero revealed that power would be restored across parts of the country.
