Elon Musk unveils plans to integrate video into X spaces

Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently announced that the social network's live audio conversation feature, Spaces, will soon support video content, thanks to X, formerly known as Twitter.

By the end of this year or the beginning of next, Musk hopes to have the feature available.

By giving live audio conversations a visual component, video has been added to Spaces in an effort to increase user engagement.

Musk emphasised that users will be able to easily toggle on and off the video feature. The video feed will dynamically switch to the current speaker when multiple speakers are present, much like in video conferencing services like Google Meet.

Musk stressed the value of paying attention to others' body language during talks, saying, "It's helpful to see people's body language as they speak. If you can see their face and read their body language, that helps to convey more information."

After launching live video broadcasting earlier this summer, X aims to position Spaces as a full-featured platform that allows users to communicate with their audience without depending on outside services.

With Musk's takeover of the social network, audio-only interactions have been replaced with X Spaces, the new name for Twitter Spaces. Musk's goal of continuously improving the platform's capabilities is in line with the decision to incorporate video.

Musk made the announcement at a Spaces session attended by controversial figures like Andrew Tate, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Alex Jones.

Notably, Musk reinstated Alex Jones' account on the platform following a user poll, igniting debate over content moderation and the platform's role in hosting controversial figures.

Keep an eye out for updates as X Spaces prepares to usher in a new era of multimedia interactions on the social network.
