Why Elon Musk's Child Wants A Change Of Name, Identity

Elon Musk's 18-year-old child has filed legal documents to change gender identity and said she no longer wants to be related to him "in any way, shape or form" after.

The former, Xavier Alexander Musk who recently turned 18, the age of consent in California, asked the court to change his name to Vivian Jenna Wilson in a bid to be identified as a woman

Stating the reason for the change, she said: "Gender Identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form."

Vivian has, however, wished to retain her mother’s name, Wilson. As things stand, the SpaceX boss is yet to comment on his child’s change of identity. 

The petition for both a name change and a new birth certificate reflecting her new gender identity was filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica in April. This came to light recently in some online media reports.

Elon has seven children and in 2004, he welcomed twins, Xavier who is now Vivan, and Griffin through In vitro fertilization (IVF) with his then partner Justine Wilson, who lost her first son, Nevada Alexander.

Justine and Elon were married from 2000 to 2008 and lost Nevada at the age of 10 weeks in 2002. After the twins, Justine again gave birth via IVF to triplets named Kai, Saxon and Damian.
