Embattled FCMB Appoints New Acting MD/CEO

Embattled FCMB Appoints New Acting MD/CEO

Embattled First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has named Yemisi Edun as its acting managing director following allegations of sexual misconduct that led Adam Nuru's proceeding on compulsory leave.

FCMB has been in the eye of the storm lately when allegations of an unprofessional romantic affair were levelled against Nuru.
It was earlier reported that a petition signed by over 1900 people demanded the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to sack Nuru for his involvement in the demise of a staffer's husband, Tunde Thomas.

Thomas was said to have died of depression on December 16, 2020.

According to the petition, the FCMB MD allegedly had an affair with Moyo Thomas, who was the deceased’s wife, resulting in two children.

It was alleged that Moyo had informed her husband that she was leaving Nigeria for the United States with the kids only to call him upon arrival in the U.S. that the children are not his.

A panel inaugurated by FCMB is currently probing the allegation against Nuru.
