Embrace Seamless Tax Payment Methods — OIRS

The Acting Chairman of the Osun Internal Revenue Service (OIRS), Abiodun Olaitan has charged all eligible tax payers in Osun State to embrace the seamless and automatic method of payment of their tax without Revenue Payment Reference.

Anchored on this method, Olaitan emphasized that payment is now easy, seamless and devoid of the usual stress in Osun State.

The new payment method according to him has been stress free in such a manner that it is less cumbersome as all  taxpayers can confidently walk into banking halls, state hospitals and government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) devoid of any bureaucratic bottlenecks.

Abiodun Olaitan who spoke through the Zonal Coordinator Osun East District, Adesola Arogundade made the clarifications while featuring on a weekly live radio program titled 'Alaye Lori Owo Ori' on OSBC station.

The tax expert in the course of the program  highlighted the many ways in  which taxpayers can make payment of their taxes and other levies either by cheque to any government account, transfer method or by their Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards to  any OIRS Revenue Marshals stationed at any of the organizations.   

He ,however, warned tax payers not to pay to any other person apart from Osun Internal Revenue Marshals.

He confirmed to Osun residents that any payment made through any of the agency's revenue Marshal will be accounted for as long payment receipt will be issued at the point of transaction. 

He also disclosed to taxpayers that payment of their taxes will now be immediate, timely and precise just as he reiterated the agency's effort in serving the people of the state better.

Speaking on the myriads of benefits of payment of taxes to the coffers of government, Olaitan enumerated them to include but not limited to availability of good road infrastructures, good and qualitative health delivery system in all government hospitals and clinics, free and qualitative  educational programmes among others.

He appealed to the residents of the state to make payment of taxes and other levies a top priority, adding that their contributions towards the growth and development of Osun will encourage more developmental project in the state to be embarked on by the government.
