Emir Calls For Support To End Insecurity In Zamfara

The Emir of Bukkuyum in Zamfara, Alhaji Muhammad Usman has tasked people of the state to support the new Dauda Lawal Dare led adminstration to curtail insecurity and developmental challenges in the state.

The Emir made the call on Sunday in Bukkuyum at a reception and award presentation in honour of the state Deputy Governor and four other prominent individuals in the area.

The event was organised by Bukkuyum Emirate Development Association.

“We should pray for Gov. Dauda Lawal and his Deputy, Malam Mani Mumuni to succeed in developing the state.

“We should support and encourage them to execute policies and programmes to address security challenges facing our communities”, the emir said.

Usman described the deputy governor as a man of integrity and honour.

“We believe in his capacity considering his past records; we are wishing the administration well in promoting the future of our state”, he added.

In his remarks, the deputy governor described the event as historic and appreciated the honour done to him.

“Our administration under Gov. Dauda Lawal is giving priority to ending the security challenges bedeviling our communities.

“We are grateful with the mandate and confidence given to us by the electorates across the 14 local government area of the state.

“Our policies and programmes will address insecurity and other socio economic problems facing the state.

“What we need is prayers. We are confident that with your support and prayers, the administration will succeed in meeting your expectations,” Mumini said.

Earlier, an Islamic cleric, Professor Mansur-Sokoto admonished leaders to always put the intest of the public first, in whatever they do.

He called on people of the state to encourage unity, peace and stability and always pray to Allah to guide leaders right.
