Employees reveal why they murdered popular Ondo caterer

Debbie Olakunbi Adene, the Personal Assistant to the prominent caterer in Ondo state and CEO, has reportedly confessed to why he and the victim's driver conspired to kill her a few days after her birthday.

According to police sources, the couple wanted the money that was sprayed on her during her birthday celebrations.

The PA, whose name was withheld, was reportedly caught by police officers a few weeks after the deceased was gruesomely murdered in her house on Oda Road in the Akure metropolitan area.

Olakunbi was murdered after turning 54.

Her neighbours spotted her lifeless body on her bed and informed the house's caretaker.

The mother of two was alleged to have entertained visitors at her home, serving various wines and beverages, and then posting many of her photos on social media.

Recall that the husband, Dele Adene, raised concern over the delay in apprehending his wife's killer.

Adene recently stated in an interview, "I was told that my wife's corpse was found on her bed in a pool of blood, indicating that she was hacked to death.

“I cannot believe that no arrests have been made up till the moment of talking to you. I feel suspects should have been arrested.

“Her phone should be tracked and I don’t know how dwellers in the building did not know such thing happened in a house with four flats apartment."

But speaking with Vanguard, a police detective, stated that the deceased Personal Assistant has confessed to the crime and is also supplying the police with important information about the circumstances surrounding the killing.

It was also learned that the late caterer’s driver, who is on the run, donated the knife used to hack her to death.

Attempts to get in touch with Funmi Odunlami, the state police image maker, were unsuccessful since she did not return calls.

However, a police official confirmed that one suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the victim's murder.

Meanwhile, commercial motorcyclists known as Okada riders are in a panic in Ondo State over the murder of their colleagues.

AlNews.ng gathered that two commercial motorcyclists were murdered at different locations in the Akoko North-West local government area of the state.

One of the victims known as Dada Jatto from Iyani Akoko in the council area was said to have been missing for the past three days before his lifeless body was found beside the road on Tuesday.

A source in the town said the deceased’s lifeless body was found with various machete cuts all over his body.

The source said, ”He is a popular okada rider in the town and he had been missing three days ago. Upon the search efforts, his mutilated body and the damaged mobile phone were discovered without his motorbike at a spot very close to Arigidi along Oke Agbe road.”

The second incident reportedly involved another commercial motorcyclist whose assailant allegedly lured them to a place between Ikare and Arigidi Akoko.

A resident of the area who simply identified himself as Mustafa said the assailants used a sledgehammer to smash the deceased’s head.

But he was rescued and taken to hospital where he later gave up the ghost.

“Before he died in a hospital, he managed to describe his assailant and the snatcher of his motorbike. Vigilant security agents in the area arrested one of the attackers with the motorcycle at Akunu Akoko,” he narrated.
