End ASUU Strike: Ogun Students Overtake Major Towns In Prote

Students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye have joined their colleagues nationwide in protesting to prevail on the Federal Government to accede to the request of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

ASUU had been engaged in a battle of wits with the Federal Government and this week had announced that it was extending the industrial action by three months.

The protesting students from the university have reportedly taken over the Oru Underbridge, Ago Iwoye.

It was also learned that students of the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) protested at the Conoil, Ijagun Junction.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have called on their colleagues to engage in an End ASUU strike protest to register their discontent in the ongoing face-off between ASUU and the Federal Government.

Part of the reasons for the protest by the students was that the prolonged strike was affecting their academics and also the economy of the localities where their schools are situated.
