#ENDSARS: AIT, Channels, Arise TV To Pay  N3Million Fine For

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has revealed that the African Independent Television (AIT), Channels Television, and Arise television will be served a 3 million naira fine for using unverified social media video clips during their reportage of the #EndSARS protest.

Making this disclosure on Monday during a press conference, the acting Director-General of NBC, Armstrong Idachaba explained that the three stations grossly violated the broadcast code by using unverifiable social media videos.

Further revealing that DAAR Communications will be served separately, for allegedly using unverifiable news content on the fire incident at the National Christian Center, Idachaba warned that weightier sanctions will be introduced subsequently for defaulters.
