Nigerian singer Davido has denied joining in a protest calling for an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on Sunday, October 11.
The singer who has since joined in the online protest against SARS brutality was seen in a clip with many protesters in Abuja.
However, Davido, met with the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu on Monday, saying he had come for a closed-door meeting.
Adamu asked, ”How can you come here for a closed-door meeting when you were protesting yesterday and you identified with the protesters?

Davido responded, saying he did not join the protest but went to calm the situation down.
”I did not protest, I was not there to protest. I was there to calm things down because the protesters are my fans.”
In his response, The IGP stressed that Davido’s appearance during the protest portrays him as one who partook, adding that the agenda of the meeting needed to be streamlined.
