A lawsuit has been filed against human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, submitted to the International Criminal Court.
The suit was filed by Make Nigeria Better Initiative (MNBI), over an alleged "instigation" of the #EndSARS protest that "led to killing of innocent citizens".
The lawsuit captioned, 'Criminal complaint filed against Femi Falana, SAN for instigating the violent #EndSARS protest that led to killing of innocent citizens, wanton destruction of properties and other heinous crimes against humanity in Nigeria' claims that there are "pieces of evidence" against Falana.
Contained in the suit, Falana was described as an individual who "has always maintained an antagonistic posture towards security forces, particularly the military ever since Nigeria returned to democracy in 1999."
It went on to state that Falana "has over the years been a crises (sic) merchant who thrives on the ignorance of some poor citizens to enrich himself and family members in the name of advocating for human rights."
The group described Falana's alleged participation in stoking what is dubbed "the mother of all protests in Nigeria" as "not only ignoble but criminal".
