#EndSars: How Genevieve Nnaji's 13-Year-Old Niece Was Harass

Amidst calls for the end of the brutal activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), veteran actress Genevieve Nnaji has recounted how her teenage niece was harassed by operatives.

In an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, where she also lent her voice to the ongoing protest across some states in Nigeria, Nnaji said her niece's laptop was seized by the officials and was slapped across the face for demanding reasons it was seized.

While lamenting that her niece went through such brutality as a young girl, she said recalled that Nigerians have overtime cried out over SARS activities, but nothing has been done.

In the letter shared on social media, the actress said “My niece was harassed by SARS for carrying a laptop. Her own laptop. She was slapped across the face for simply asking why her laptop was being seized. At only 13, she had to deal with police brutality. Complaints were made and nothing was done.

“No one is spared and we are all affected. Mr President, this is the current state of your country. What our country is today is a reflection of your leadership, your legacy.

“I’m getting weary and tired of being optimistic about change but even then can’t complain.
