#EndSARS: Lekki Massacre Added To Wikipedia Database

Popular search engine, Wikipedia has finally added the unfortunate incident that happened in Lagos last week called the "Lekki Massacre" to its database.

The incident's inclusion in their database on Sunday evening followed the aftermath of the #EndSARS #PoliceBrutality protests which took place for about two weeks in various parts of the country and some countries of the world.

The sad event, also popularly known as "Black Tuesday" unfolded around 6:50 pm West African Time on the evening of the 20th of October 2020.

Unfortunately, the peaceful demonstrations around the country were allegedly hijacked by hoodlums who reports also alleged were political thugs sent to violently disrupt the protests. This eventually culminated in an imposition of a curfew by the government of various states in the federation.

However, the protest at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos took a bloody turn. In what seems like a clear case of an intent to cover-up before the dastardly act even took place, all the billboards' lights and the CCTV cameras around the location were allegedly turned off just minutes before some army officers and other weaponized security units stormed the scene, aimed and shot at armless peaceful protesters who had been on their knees singing the country's national anthem while holding the national flag.

The actual number of deaths, victims of gunshot wounds, reports of missing persons, etc as at the time of this write-up is yet to be fully ascertained as the Lagos State Governments have set up an inquiry aimed at embarking on a thorough investigation into the unfortunate event with the aim of bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The protest witnessed a huge following and massive support online through various social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and so on. Protesters did not only take to the streets to voice out their feelings and thoughts about the urgent need for police reforms but also agitated for an end to bad governance and the inculcation of accountability by political leaders.
