#EndSars: Obasa Reacts As Mr Macaroni, Others Protest Overni

In the wake of outcries by Nigerians over the activities of the Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), the speaker of the Lagos house of assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, on Friday morning called for an urgent meeting of the parliament.

AllNews reports that top personalities and other citizens in the country have over time called for an end to the anti-robbery squad, as a result of the incessant killing of youths.

Over the weekend, celebrities, in a renewed online protest, took to their social media pages to call for an end to the squad with several hashtags such as #EndSars, #EndSarspermanentlyNow, etc.

The protest began after a video where SARS operatives allegedly gunned down a man in Delta State.

On Thursday, celebrities like Tiwa Savage, Mr. Macaroni, Falz, Runtown, Runtown, Rude Boy, Jaywon, BBNaija's Tacha, and Prince, among others partook in a protest in Lagos.

Mr. Macaroni led an overnight protest which saw the protesters at the premises of the state house of assembly, requesting to meet the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

On its social media page, the assembly announced that “After addressing the #EndSARS protesters led by @mrmacaronii at the early hours of today, Mr.Speaker @mudashiru_obasa has called for an emergency sitting later today to deliberate on way forward as it concerns SARS in Lagos State.”
