#EndSARS Protest Could Lead Nigeria To Point Of No Return - Abdulsalami

#EndSARS Protest Could Lead Nigeria To Point Of No Return -

The Chairman of the National Peace Committee of Nigeria, Abdusalami Abubakar, has said that with the current violence that has tainted the ongoing #EndSARS protest, Nigeria could head to a point of no return.

Abubakar stated this in a chat with the media in Minna, Niger State capital.

He urged the president to continue addressing the grievances of the protesters and "layout a programme" that would address these grievances.

He added that the protest had been hijacked by criminals and that the situation was of "serious concern".

Abubakar stated, “The hijacking of the protests by criminals have resulted into violence, destruction of government and private properties, criminal releases of prisoners, and the lynching and burning of policemen and some innocent persons.

“This development is causing serious concern to all of us and if care is not taken it might take the country to point of no return. I am therefore appealing and calling for a halt, to give peace a chance for dialogue.

“I am equally appealing to the President to continue addressing the grievances expressed by the youth and layout the programme that meet and addresses the objective of the protest.”
