As the nationwide #EndSars protest hits day 14, Nigerian singer Davido has accused the government of hiring thugs to pose as protesters.
AllNews reports that there have been reports of hoodlums attacking protesters in different parts of the country.
Earlier on Monday, October 19, armed thugs took over an #EndSARS protest against police brutality and extrajudicial killings, broke down the walls of Oko prison located on Benin-Sapele road, setting inmates free, and carted away arms and ammunition.
The Nigerian Police Force via it's verified Twitter handle said; ”@policeNG regrettably confirms the unfortunate attacks on police facilities – Ugbekun Police Station, Oba Market Police Station and Idogbo Police Post by persons posing as #ENDSARS protesters in Benin, Edo State, today, Monday, 19th October 2020.
Reacting, Davido took to his Twitter page to maintain that the protest will not end yet, as some hoodlums were hired to pose as protesters responsible for several attacks.
