#EndSARS: We Won, Nigerians Celebrate Disbandment Of SARS

Following the announcement by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, of the dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Nigerians congratulate themselves on the work done to ensure that the rogue unit was disbanded.

The IGP made this announcement after Nigerians took to the streets to voice their displeasure against the brutalities they face in the hands of the SARS operatives.

Hashtags like #EndSARS, #EndPoliceBrutality trended for days, with #EndSARS trending at number one globally, drawing the attention of global celebrities like singer Trey Songz and footballers Marcus Rashford and Mesut Özil.
