Sowore, Adeyanju photo merge
Omoyele Sowore and Deji Adeyanju are currently leading the Abuja #EndSARS Anniversary protest.
The protest is holding at the Unity Fountain.
Sowore, in a brief interview with The Nation, said: ”We will commence the protest at the Unity Fountain, Abuja by 8 in the morning.”
Adeyanju, who confirmed that the protests would begin from the Unity Fountain, added: “I don’t think we need to inform the police about the protests.”
The #EndSARS protests had spread across the country in October 2020 to register the youths’ grievances against the alleged atrocities of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force.
The protest, which gained massive international attention, came to a halt on October 20, 2020, when heavily armed soldiers allegedly shot protesters at the Lekki tollgate.
