Ensure Quality Education Delivery In Your Schools - Osun SUB

The Executive Secretary, Osun State Universal Basic Education Board, Yahaya Bakare has called on School Based Management Committee members (SBMC) to ensure quality education delivery in their various schools.

Bakare gave the admonition in a key note address delivered at a stakeholders' sensitisation meeting on the implementation of the 2021/2022 School Based Improvement program in Osogbo organised by the Universal Basic Education Commission(UBEC), Abuja in collaboration with Osun Universal Basic Education Board.

The State SUBEB Boss noted that the school Based Management Committee has been globally accepted by all education stakeholders as a veritable channel to promote ideal school governance.

Bakare who asserted that the present administration in Osun State, under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, is passionate about education urged all education stakeholders to give maximum support to the development of the State education sector, particularly at basic level so that the pupils could make remarkable progress in learning activities.

The SUBEB Scribe therefore harped on the need for SBMC members to collaborate with  people living around the various schools  in order to assist them in beefing up security on schools' property.

He also advised them on reaching out to parents, philanthropists, Old Students Association as well as other education lovers for assistance, advancing that the development of education should not be sole responsibility of government.

He therefore called for judicious and effective use of whatever fund  is allocated for school development,rather than being diverted for personal benefit.

Earlier In her welcome address, the Director, Social Mobilisation and Special Education, Oyebola Adeoye thanked  the national umbrella body of the Commission, UBEC, for its support over the years.

She enjoined the participants to wholeheartedly embrace and make judicious use of the knowledge acquired at the training workshop, saying that the education stakeholders' meeting will  further strengthen the capacity on school project implementation and modalities on how perform their duties. 

In their separate remarks, Osun SUBEB and Abuja UBEC Officers, Kehinde Dada and Noel Djossou respectively enjoined SBMC members to make judicious use of the training, charging that every project in their schools should improve learning in their various communities.

In their separate good will messages, Osun  State NUT Chairman, Comrade Muritala Fatade, the representatives of ANCOPSS President and AOPSHON Chairperson, Onafisayo Ajani and Comrade Adeleye Gbenga respectively as well as SBMC Chairman, Moses Dada, posited that educational development should not be left alone for the government,but should rather be a joint project with parents and the various communities. 

They however enjoined SBMC Members to be hardworking and be up and doing in relating  with the various stakeholders at  community levels in order to secure their active participation in moving the education sector forward.
