The House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency, Ejikeme Omeje has died after being involved in a road accident.
Omeje's death occurred on Tuesday morning along Eden Ani/Nsukka road, near El-Rina hotel Nsukka.
The tragedy was confirmed by an APC stakeholder who said it took place when Omeje was driving back from Edem-Ani town after a political gathering.
According to the source, the House of Reps member driving alone along the Erina-Edem Ani road in Nsukka when he suddenly lost control and his car veered into the bush, hitting a tree in the process.
Omeje was reportedly rushed to the hospital and later died as a result of serious injuries he sustained in the accident.
While disclosing the incident, the State Secretary of the APC in Enugu State, Robert Ngwu added that it was a shocking development.
