Enugu: Ekweremadu, Others Withdraw From Governorship Race

Three aspirants, including Senator Ike Ekweremadu, have withdrawn from Wednesday's PDP governorship primary election in Enugu State.

Ekweremadu's withdrawal was made known via a letter signed by Hon. Charles Asogwa, the Director-General, Ikeoha Campaign Organisation.

"We wish to inform our supporters and Nigerians that the former Deputy President of the Senate and foremost governorship aspirant in Enugu State, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, will not be participating in the PDP governorship primary election scheduled for this Wednesday, May 25, 2022", it reads.

Additionally, Captain Everest Nnaji and Joseph Onoh have also disclosed their withdrawal from the gubernatorial race.

Per reports, Onu said that he was not backing Peter Mba who he claims is Governor Ifeanyi Ugwaunyi's choice.
