Chijioke Edeoga
An Appeal Court sitting in Abuja in Friday dismissed an appeal filed by Chijioke Edeoga to be joined in a suit which nullified his candidacy of the Labour Party in Enugu State.
Edeoga had approached the Appeal court, seeking to be joined in the case instituted by Captain Everest Nnaji which removed him (Edeoga) as the candidate of the Labour Party.
In the ruling, the Justices of the Appeal Court held that Edeoga’s appeal lacked merit and incompetent as it was filed out of time.
The Court also noted that the appeal of notice was filed without attaching the certified true copy of the High Court judgement.
Edeoga filed his appealed on the 2nd of December while the judgement sacking him was given on November 9, 2022.
Captain Everest Nnaji had dragged the Labour party to Court over the Enugu gubernatorial Primary which produced Edeoga as candidate.
The court nullified the primary and ordered a repeat within 14 days.
The party appealed the judgement which is still subsisting.
Edeoga’s application is to be joined in the subsisting appeal which was dismissed by the court today (Friday).
