Enugu: Youths Back Frank Nweke's Guber Ambition

Youths in Igboeze North LGA have thrown their weight behind the gubernatorial ambition of Frank Nweke Jr, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Enugu State.

This is as the candidate assured the people of Igbo-Eze North that his government will fulfill the promise of providing critical infrastructure to the Local Government Area.

Nweke stated this while assuring the people as they enumerated their needs at a town hall meeting in Uda, Enugu Ezike.

Speaking on the core areas of lack, Omeke Cornelius, an Igbo Eze youth leader listed insecurity, unemployment and lack of water as the pressing challenges of the community.

In his response, Frank Nweke Jr said it is regrettable that water has remained a challenge under the PDP government in Enugu State, noting that even the government house is served by vendor water tankers.

He went on to say that the availability of critical infrastructure was key to attracting industries and employees of labor into the community.

“The security of life and property remains a priority for my administration.

"We will do everything and deploy all the powers of government to ensure that every resident is safe and protected.

“Water availability and good access roads are also critical to economic growth as well as personal comfort.

"We already have plans to revive the Adada water scheme with a water distribution plan to serve towns and cities in Enugu North, while designing new water supply systems with existing water bodies in different communities.

“For our roads, we are clear on how to approach the rehabilitation and construction of roads in the State.

"With working infrastructure, as well as the right policies, companies will be confident enough to set up their businesses here and provide employment” he said.

Ayegba Charles, the chairman of Ette Ward II also lamented the neglect by all levels of the government, noting that they trusted Nweke’s antecedents to keep his word to the community.
