Epe LCDA Chairman Charges Traders To Pay Taxes Promptly

Wale Anomo, Chairman, Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area in Epe Division of Lagos State on Wednesday charged traders to pay their taxes and other levies to boost revenues.

Anomo told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that prompt payment of taxes and levies by citizens would enable the government to provide more infrastructures for their wellbeing.

“I understand the economic situation in the country, but I implore market women and men to pay their taxes so has to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

“It is the taxes and levies they pay that we will use to renovate and upgrade markets, so as to provide befitting business environment,’’ he said.

Anomo said he went on a one-day sensitization and enlightenment campaign recently to impress on traders, market women and men the significance of prompt payment of taxes and levies.

The chairman pledged infrastructure support for traders in the area.
