Alisson Becker's mistakes cost Liverpool all three-point as they succumbed to yet another home defeat with the title race fading into Manchester City hands after a 4-1 thrashing at Anfield.
Alisson was part of the defensive reinforcements brought in by Jurgen Klopp to replace Karius after a champions league final mistake but it seems the absence of Van Dijk has opened up the Brazilian goalkeeper to mistakes.
The game was properly poised at 1-1 as Salah's penalty after a foul by Ruben Dias had cancelled out Gundogan's opener in the early stages of the second half.

The FIFA golden glove winner was trying to clear out the ball but it fell kindly into Foden's legs, he then managed to beat two defenders, got into the box and a simple pass to Gundogan who was unmarked in the box, the German compensate for his missed penalty by scoring a brace.
With just 2 minutes from the first mistake, Alisson made another this time into Bernando Silva's legs, he closed down in the box and dinked a cross for Sterling to head in.
The match was still feasible at 3-1 as Liverpool continued to remain a threat when they attack but a lovely solo effort by Phil Foden made matters worst for the defending Champions as he slammed a powerful shot past Alisson to make it 4-1 at the Anfield.

It was not a good night for the Reds as they stayed at 4th with 39 points -- West Ham are behind at 39 and fellow Meyerside Everton are at 6th with 37 points.
City continue to make a statement that the trophy is the target for this term as they extended their league lead to 5 points with a match to be played.
